The South Asian Biotechnology Conference (SABC) was initiated in 2015 by successfully organizing its first conference in New Delhi, India. It was commenced to provide a common platform to the eminent scientists, academicians and researchers from the SAARC nations to share their knowledge and current advancement in the field of biological science. With this goal, the conference was organized in the following years by Bangladesh (2016), Nepal (2017), Srilanka (2018) and South Asian University, India (2015 and 2019).
For the sustainable development of a nation, good health and well-being are the prerequisites. Biotechnology has the power of contributing to the development of a system for better health care, enhanced food security, reduce carbon emissions and drastic effects of climate change and detoxification of hazardous wastes. The situation calls for appropriate advances in bio- medical sciences, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, diagnostics and health care systems.
The Bangladesh Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (BSBMB) is one of the oldest professional organizations of its kind with thousands of members. Each year, this society organizes national conferences to facilitate exchanging ideas and views among the researchers, academicians and students of different public and private universities. The upcoming South Asian Biotechnology Conference is going to be organized along with the 50 years celebration of the BSBMB.
On behalf of the organizing committee, it is our pleasure to welcome you all to join this International Conference in the capital city of Bangladesh, on the eve of the 50th anniversary of its independence.
